CHROMATE

Chromate conversion is a chemical coating process for aluminum. It is often referred to as Chem Film or Chemical Film, or as the proprietary names Alodine or Irridite. It is a thin, clear or yellow conversion coating that is often used as a primer for powder or paint or as general protection to prevent aluminum from oxidizing.
